The past two years have been hard on most of our mental & physical wellbeing. Most full-time employees spend a large portion of the week working; whether in the office or from home hence, causing for a huge impact on mental health.

Both physical and mental wellbeing should be given equal importance in every organization.

We cannot be happy at all times however, incorporating the below steps in our everyday routine can definitely help us stay calmer.

Engage with people

Genuinely connect with people around; whether through calling or meeting a friend, setting up a fixed routine for family time, turning away from screens and having a conversation or playing an offline game with someone. It is important to ensure that we are not completely dependent on social media to build relationships.

Take regular breaks

For those of us, who are constantly working with a screen, taking regular breaks from the computer becomes imperative. Excessive screen time can not only harm our eyes but can also cause other physical issues like headache and tiredness. This can also affect our overall productivity at work. It is very important to take regular breaks and get some natural light for our wellbeing.

Be Physically Active

Incorporating some exercises in our daily routine can do wonders for our self-esteem. It can be taking a walk during lunch break, having a gym session before starting the work day, or any physical activity that seems to help in feeling better. This routine needs to be maintained consistently.

Practice Mindfulness

Try being more present in the moment. In this fast-paced world, it becomes a little difficult to achieve this however, with practice it can get easier.  Focus on your surroundings. Sometimes devoting a few minutes on simply focusing on your surroundings can help clear your mind and help you resolve issues at a broader level.

Learn new skills

Learning new skills will provide you with a sense of accomplishment and a new level of confidence. Being engaged in learning will help you feel better about yourself and have greater ability to cope with stress. It gives you a sense of self confidence, hope, and purpose.

Get adequate sleep

Getting enough rest will help you feel refreshed and more productive. Right amount of sleep and rest has always been an important factor when it comes to mental health & wellbeing.
