Job Brief:
A leading European logistics company with only 6 years in the UAE is seeking an experienced Air Freight Product Manager to establish and lead our air freight department from scratch. This senior role reports to the country director and will be tasked to quickly establish a lean airfreight department from scratch, propose a business plan, hire the correct resources, and drive operational excellence.

Job Responsibilities:

• Strategic Development: Propose and implement a 3-month business plan to establish and expand the airfreight department to cater for 1 million kilos of imported, sensitive fresh fruits and vegetables from Europe.
• Team Leadership: Headhunt and lead a team of airfreight operations professionals that have a track record in performance.
• Business Development: Identify business opportunities to grow the airfreight service offerings and client base.
• Collaboration: Work closely with Dnata and internal teams in Europe / USA / Australia to ensure seamless integration of airfreight services with other logistics solutions.
• Market Analysis: Monitor airfreight industry trends and market conditions to adapt strategies and stay competitive.
• Compliance Management: Ensure that all airfreight operations comply with international regulations and standards.

Job Requirements:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in airfreight logistics, with substantial experience in handling both operations and business development for the airfreight division.
• Industry Expertise: Proven experience in the food perishables/cold storage arena (mandatory).
• Team Management: Proven ability to build and manage a high-performing team within the company.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of global airfreight operations and market dynamics.
• Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
• Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
