Job Brief:

We are seeking an experienced Civil Design Coordinator to coordinate civil and structural design activities and NOC coordination throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that engineering deliverables comply with project specifications, applicable codes and standards, contractual requirements, and approved schedules.

The role is responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary design interfaces, reviewing drawings and technical documents, resolving design issues, and supporting timely approvals and construction execution.

Job Responsibilities:

Actively follow and promote the Company Safety and Security policies and ensure that fellow employees and visitors are doing the same. These policies are to be followed at all times within the Company environment to ensure a safe and secure workplace for all.
Coordinate civil and structural design activities and ensure the timely preparation, review, and submission of engineering deliverables in accordance with project requirements and schedules.
Review civil and structural drawings, calculations, specifications, design reports, and other engineering documents for completeness, constructability, and compliance with project requirements and applicable codes and standards.
Coordinate design interfaces between Civil/Structural and other disciplines, including Electrical, Mechanical, MEP, Architectural, Instrumentation/Control, and other project-specific systems.
Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and internal engineering teams to obtain required design information and resolve technical and interface issues.
Manage design comments and review cycles and coordinate responses to client/consultant comments to facilitate the timely approval of engineering documents.
Review shop drawings, construction drawings, and vendor drawings and ensure consistency with approved design documents, specifications, and interface requirements.
Identify design discrepancies, clashes, and constructability issues and coordinate appropriate technical resolutions with relevant engineering disciplines and project stakeholders.
Provide technical support to construction/site teams, including clarification of drawings, resolution of RFIs, and coordination of design modifications arising during project execution.
Monitor the civil/structural design deliverable schedule, identify potential delays or outstanding information, and coordinate necessary actions with engineering and project teams.
Coordinate design changes and revisions and ensure approved modifications are properly incorporated into construction and as-built documentation.
Participate in design review, coordination, and progress meetings with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams and follow up on agreed technical actions.
Maintain proper coordination and traceability of design deliverables, technical queries, RFIs, comments, approvals, and design changes throughout the project lifecycle.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
Professional engineering membership/certification is advantageous.
Training/certification in BIM, design coordination, or relevant engineering software is advantageous.
10 years and above of relevant civil/structural engineering experience, including design review and multidisciplinary design coordination.
Experience in EPC, infrastructure, utilities, industrial, or major construction projects.
UAE/GCC project experience is preferred.
Experience coordinating with clients, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and construction teams is preferred.
Approvals from utility authorities such as TAQA, DEWA, EtihadWE, and SEWA.
Strong knowledge of civil and structural engineering principles and construction practices.
Strong knowledge of civil/structural drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical documentation.
Knowledge of multidisciplinary engineering interfaces and design coordination.
Knowledge of applicable civil/structural codes, standards, and project specifications.
Experience in design review, constructability review, and technical problem-solving.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and engineering/document review applications.
BIM/Revit/Navisworks knowledge is advantageous.
Knowledge of RFIs, technical queries, design changes, and document approval workflows.
Strong technical coordination, communication, and reporting skills.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both spoken and written.
Arabic language skills are preferred, and knowledge of additional languages would be considered an advantage.
