Job Brief:

Our client, a leading metal fabrication and manufacturing company in the UAE, is seeking a skilled Design Draftsman to prepare detailed technical drawings and fabrication drawings for metal products and structures. The ideal candidate will work closely with the engineering, production, and project teams to ensure designs are accurate, practical, and compliant with project specifications and industry standards.

Job Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings, shop drawings, and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design software.
Interpret engineering designs, project specifications, and client requirements to develop accurate technical drawings.
Revise and update drawings based on design changes, site conditions, or client feedback.
Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and production teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
Maintain proper documentation and version control of all drawings and design files.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, quality requirements, and safety regulations.
Support the estimation and project teams with technical drawings and design-related information when required.
Assist in resolving design-related issues during fabrication and installation stages.

Job Requirements:

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil / Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, Design Technology, or a related field.
Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Draftsman, Design Draftsman, or similar role within the metal fabrication, steel manufacturing, aluminium, or engineering industry.
Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory; experience with SolidWorks, Inventor, Tekla, or other 3D design software is an advantage.
Strong understanding of fabrication processes, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
Knowledge of sheet metal design, structural steel detailing, or metal manufacturing processes is preferred.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and project documentation.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience in preparing shop drawings for metal fabrication projects.
Familiarity with UAE industry standards and project requirements.
Knowledge of CNC, laser cutting, bending, and fabrication processes.
Understanding of material specifications and manufacturing tolerances.
