Job Brief:

Our client is seeking an experienced EI&C Lead Engineer to manage and lead the Electrical, Instrumentation & Control (EI&C) team in delivering the required designs, material submittals, technical meetings/workshops, and procurement activities.

The EI&C Lead Engineer will oversee technical activities across Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation & Control systems, ensuring effective preparation and review of engineering deliverables while supporting both design and site execution requirements.

The ideal candidate should have 12–18 years of total relevant experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a Lead/Senior Engineer role, with proven experience leading engineers/designers, reviewing engineering deliverables, and working across both design and site execution.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead the EI&C team to carry out the required designs, material submittals, technical meetings/workshops, and procurement activities.
  • Lead and review Electrical engineering activities covering Load Schedules, SLDs, Cable Schedules, Cable Sizing, Voltage Drop, Short-Circuit Calculations, Protection Coordination, Transformer/Generator Sizing, MCC/MDB Design, Motor/VFD Applications, Earthing and Lightning Protection, Lighting, UPS/DC Systems, Electrical Equipment Datasheets, Electrical Specifications, Vendor Technical Submittals, and ETAP Studies.
  • Ensure good awareness and application of relevant international electrical standards, including IEC, BS, IEEE, etc.
  • Lead and review Instrumentation engineering activities covering Instrument Index, I/O Lists, Instrument Datasheets, Loop Diagrams, Hook-Ups, Cable Schedules, JB Schedules, Instrument Installation, Control Valves, Pressure/Flow/Level/Temperature Instruments, Instrumentation Specifications, Hazardous Area Requirements, Calibration, and Vendor Packages.
  • Lead and review Automation / Control engineering activities covering System Architecture, DCS/SCADA Architecture, PLC Hardware, I/O Lists, Network Architecture, Control Philosophy, Control Narratives, Cause & Effect, Interlocks, Sequences, Alarm Philosophy, HMI/SCADA, PLC Programming Concepts, Communication Protocols, FAT/SAT, and Commissioning Procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of various PLC/automation programming software and their applications.
  • Coordinate technical meetings and workshops and support the preparation and review of material and vendor technical submittals.
  • Lead engineers and designers and review engineering deliverables across Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation & Control disciplines.
  • Support and coordinate EI&C activities covering both engineering design and site execution.
  • Contact relevant suppliers and subcontractors, send enquiries, and obtain quotations for required materials and services.
  • Negotiate the costs and prices of quotations with relevant suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Discuss contracts and delivery requirements with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and follow up on deliveries.
  • Coordinate quality inspections for procured materials and services.
  • Carry out procurement-related activities with the support of the Procurement Division.

Job Requirements:

  • 12–18 years of total relevant experience in Electrical, Instrumentation & Control (EI&C) engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Lead Engineer / Senior Engineer role.
  • Proven experience leading engineers and designers.
  • Strong experience reviewing engineering designs and technical deliverables.
  • Experience across both design and site execution is required.
  • Strong Electrical engineering knowledge covering Load Schedules, SLDs, Cable Schedules, Cable Sizing, Voltage Drop, Short-Circuit Calculations, Protection Coordination, Transformer/Generator Sizing, MCC/MDB Design, Motor/VFD Applications, Earthing and Lightning Protection, Lighting, UPS/DC Systems, Electrical Equipment Datasheets, Electrical Specifications, Vendor Technical Submittals, and ETAP Studies.

  • Awareness of various PLC/automation programming software.
  • Experience supporting material submittals, technical meetings, workshops, and procurement activities.
  • Experience coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors, including enquiries, quotations, negotiations, contracts, delivery requirements, Purchase Orders, delivery follow-ups, and quality inspections.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with the Procurement Division for procurement-related activities.
