Electrical Site Engineer

Location: Dubai
Salary: Based on experience
Job Code: 221/002/742
Industry: Water Treatment

Job Brief:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Site Engineer to support the execution of electrical works for water and wastewater treatment projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on site experience on industrial or infrastructure construction projects, with exposure to the complete electrical scope rather than a single discipline. This role requires strong coordination skills, site execution expertise, and the ability to work on new/greenfield project sites from installation through commissioning.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Execute and supervise electrical works on water and wastewater treatment project sites, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
  • Prepare and review Electrical Technical Submittals, including Single Line Diagrams, Schematic Diagrams, BOQs, Cable Lists, Load Schedules, Layouts, and Lighting & Power Plans, in coordination with design and other engineering disciplines.
  • Support the preparation of the electrical section of Operation & Maintenance Manuals (OMM) and maintain accurate as-built documentation.
  • Conduct and witness electrical testing activities, including FAT, SAT, Megger (Insulation Resistance) Tests, Continuity Tests, Loop Tests, and Functional Tests.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors, including RFQ support, technical clarifications, material approvals, and site deliveries.
  • Oversee installation, glanding, termination, routing, and testing of electrical systems such as panels, cable management systems, lighting, earthing & lightning protection, UPS, and instrumentation.
  • Assist in micro relay programming (e.g., LOGO, Zelio) and support PLC/HMI/SCADA commissioning activities where applicable.
  • Troubleshoot site issues and ensure smooth coordination with project managers, consultants, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ensure electrical works comply with local authority regulations, project specifications, and industry best practices.
  • Execute electrical works for new/greenfield water treatment sites, including setting up electrical systems and networks from scratch, from initial installation through testing and commissioning.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 3–7 years of site-based experience in electrical installation, testing, and commissioning within water or wastewater treatment projects.
  • Candidates from closely related water-based industrial applications (pumping systems, water/sewage pumping stations, district cooling plants with water systems exposure) may also be considered.
  • Strong hands-on experience across the full electrical scope, including lighting, earthing, panels, instrumentation, fire systems, UPS, cabling, glanding, and termination.
  • Proven experience working on new/greenfield water treatment or industrial sites, with the ability to set up complete electrical systems and networks on undeveloped land.
  • Site experience must be primarily on industrial or infrastructure construction projects; candidates with experience mainly limited to residential buildings, O&M-only roles, medium/high-voltage works, or panel building alone are not preferred.
  • Experience in electrical testing and commissioning, including FATs, SATs, Megger testing, loop testing, and basic instrument calibration.
  • Exposure to PLC/HMI/SCADA commissioning is an advantage (training or certification preferred).
  • Ability to work independently on construction sites, coordinate multiple stakeholders, and resolve site-level technical issues.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and electrical documentation; familiarity with electrical design tools is an added advantage.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • UAE Driving License is preferred but not mandatory.
