Job Brief:The HSE Officer will support the Project Manager and engineering teams by ensuring full compliance with the Project ESH Plan, UAE statutory requirements, and international safety standards. This role involves conducting inspections, monitoring work activities, preparing risk assessments, and ensuring adherence to safety systems. The position is project-based, and the company will provide the visa, which will be cancelled upon project completion.
Job Responsibilities:- Supervise and implement all occupational health, safety, and environmental requirements in line with the Project ESH Plan and UAE legal regulations (DM, DEWA, RTA).
- Prepare Risk Assessments in line with method statements and scope of work.
- Ensure Method Statements and Risk Assessments are approved before work commences.
- Monitor the Permit to Work system and verify adherence to safe working practices.
- Prepare and execute inspection programs (daily/weekly/monthly) covering cranes, lifting equipment, scaffolds, machinery, firefighting systems, workshops, electrical installations, temporary structures, and overall housekeeping.
- Review and maintain updated calibration certificates for tools and equipment.
- Conduct daily site inspections and report non-compliances to the Project Manager.
- Participate in ESH walk-arounds and audits with EPCM and E/ER teams.
- Respond to accidents and incidents per the emergency plan and ensure investigations and corrective actions are implemented.
- Deliver or facilitate ESH inductions and training sessions for employees.
- Conduct toolbox talks, STARRT cards, and periodic safety campaigns.
- Guide employees on safe work practices and ensure competency before assigning tasks.
- Advise site personnel on compliance with ESH legislation, codes, and project requirements.
- Maintain all ESH documents and records.
- Conduct emergency drills and safety awareness campaigns.
- Maintain suggestion, observation, and near-miss registers and ensure close-out of corrective actions.
- Prepare HSE forms and maintain all HSE-related documentation for the project.
- Handle DEWA entry pass submissions for personnel, materials, tools, and vehicles for approval.
