Job Brief:

Our client is seeking a Junior Accountant to support the Finance & Accounts department in maintaining accurate accounting records, processing daily financial transactions, monitoring receivables and payables, supporting audit and corporate tax compliance, and preparing financial reports.

The Junior Accountant will primarily support the accounting activities of an FMCG trading business involving purchases, sales, suppliers, customers, logistics, and payments. This Junior Accountant Job in Dubai is also open to fresh graduates looking to develop their accounting and finance experience within the FMCG industry.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Record daily accounting transactions in the company’s accounting/ERP system.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, payment vouchers, and receipt vouchers.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales, purchases, expenses, payments, and receipts.
  • Ensure accounting documents are properly filed and supported by relevant invoices and documents.
  • Assist in maintaining the company’s chart of accounts and accounting records.
  • Process supplier invoices and verify them against purchase orders and supporting documents.
  • Prepare supplier payment schedules and payment requests.
  • Reconcile supplier statements with the company’s accounting records.
  • Monitor outstanding supplier balances and follow up on discrepancies.
  • Assist with import-related supplier invoices, freight, customs, and other purchasing costs.
  • Record customer invoices and receipts accurately.
  • Monitor customer outstanding balances and prepare receivable ageing reports.
  • Follow up with customers regarding overdue payments when required.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and investigate differences.
  • Assist in preparing collection reports and cash-flow information.
  • Record sales transactions and maintain proper sales documentation.
  • Validate claims and issue Credit Notes (CN) / Debit Notes (DN).
  • Work on the Joint Business Plan (JBP).
  • Record bank transactions and maintain proper supporting documentation.
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations.
  • Investigate and resolve unreconciled bank or cash transactions.
  • Assist with monthly closing procedures.
  • Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
  • Assist in recording accruals, prepayments, and other month-end adjustments.
  • Support the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Assist external auditors and tax consultants by providing requested documents and schedules.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
