Job Brief:
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Estimator to support structural steel estimation activities, including fabrication and erection scopes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing project specifications, technical drawings, and tender documentation to provide accurate and competitive cost estimates. This role requires collaboration with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to ensure timely and precise bid submissions aligned with client expectations and local standards.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Tender Analysis: Review architectural and structural drawings, technical specifications, and tender documents to understand project scope.
  • Quantity Take-off: Prepare accurate quantity take-offs for structural steel components such as beams, columns, trusses, and connections.
  • Cost Estimation: Estimate material, fabrication, finishing (galvanizing/painting), transport, and erection costs.
  • Supplier Coordination: Obtain competitive quotes from vendors and subcontractors, and evaluate them for compliance and value.
  • Proposal Development: Prepare technical and commercial offers, including cost breakdowns and timelines, for client submission.
  • Client Coordination: Address queries and participate in meetings to clarify estimation methodologies and project scope.
  • Budget Monitoring: Assist in tracking project budgets against actual expenditures for active jobs.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify estimation-related risks and suggest contingency measures.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in structural steel estimation, preferably within the UAE or GCC.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication methods, erection techniques, and steel standards.
  • Proficient in estimation tools and software such as AutoCAD, Tekla, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with UAE tendering processes and contracting practices.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Prior experience with infrastructure or industrial steel projects is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of regional pricing and supply chain factors is a plus.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
  • Must be immediately available to join.
