Job Brief:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced
Logistics Manager to oversee and optimize all supply chain processes within a steel manufacturing environment. The role is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of logistics and material handling, with a strong focus on cost optimization, process efficiency, and operational excellence.
Job Responsibilities:Primary Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a system to monitor logistics operations (inbound and outbound) across multiple transport modes — land, sea, and air.
- Ensure cost optimization of overall logistics and material handling expenditures.
- Establish and manage an MIS reporting system for management review, including daily dashboards and cost analysis.
- Identify and implement technology-driven solutions to enhance digitalization and streamline logistics operations.
- Coordinate and control the entire order cycle and associated information systems.
- Plan and schedule deliveries to customers accurately, ensuring proper documentation and coordination with sales teams and administrators.
- Monitor and ensure timely and accurate entry of delivery notes into information systems with proper documentation for tracking and reporting.
- Analyze data to monitor logistics performance, plan improvements, and anticipate demand.
- Allocate and manage staff resources effectively based on changing operational needs.
- Liaise and negotiate with container lines, transport companies, and inspection parties to secure cost-effective and reliable transportation solutions.
- Develop new business by gaining contracts, resolving logistical challenges, and introducing innovative solutions.
- Plan and execute logistics-related projects, utilizing specialist knowledge such as mechanical-handling systems to provide consultancy and process improvement support.
Additional Responsibilities:- Implement health and safety procedures in line with company policies and standards.
- Maintain and report on accident databases for logistics and yard operations.
- Coordinate staff training requirements with HR and HSE teams and conduct regular shop floor audits.
- Motivate and mentor team members to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
