Job Brief:We are seeking a skilled and experienced
Procurement Engineer to join the
Industrial & Manufacturing Division of a leading multi-sector group. The role involves overseeing the
sourcing and procurement of technical materials and equipment used in the production of electrical infrastructure and heavy industrial components. The ideal candidate will have a
strong background in procurement within manufacturing or engineering environments, with hands-on experience in vendor negotiations, ERP systems, and technical specifications. This is a critical role that supports large-scale fabrication, assembly, and engineering operations across regional projects.
Job Responsibilities:Strategic Sourcing & Procurement:- Develop and execute procurement strategies specifically aligned with the needs of electrical and heavy industrial manufacturing.
- Source and procure items such as sheet metals, electrical panels, MV/LV components, transformers, fabrication materials, mechanical parts, and industrial consumables.
Supplier Evaluation & Management:- Identify and assess local and international vendors specialized in industrial-grade materials and components.
- Build long-term partnerships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-efficient sourcing with quality assurance.
Contract Management & Negotiation:- Lead negotiations for pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to ensure best-value procurement while mitigating risks.
- Manage contractual obligations and performance metrics of suppliers.
Inventory Coordination:- Work closely with production, warehouse, and planning teams to align procurement with manufacturing timelines.
- Ensure lean inventory practices while avoiding material shortages or production delays.
Cost Optimization:- Continuously monitor market trends, alternative materials, and supplier innovations to identify cost-reduction opportunities without compromising quality.
ERP & Reporting:- Utilize ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) to manage procurement workflows and generate data-driven reports on spend, delivery lead times, and supplier performance.
Compliance & Quality:- Ensure all purchases comply with internal specifications, industrial standards, and regulatory requirements related to manufacturing.
