Job Brief:
We are seeking a skilled Procurement Engineer with solid experience in steel fabrication. The role involves handling the sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of materials and services to support fabrication projects. The ideal candidate should have strong vendor management skills and a background in mechanical engineering.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for all Contracts and Procurement related activities in the organization
  • Develop new suppliers through evaluation and visit as per our ISO systems.
  • Evaluate all prices quoted by suppliers/vendors with comparison statement and to be approved by the Projects Manager before LPO/Award is placed.
  • Develop & implement an overall vendor expediting & surveillance plan on all projects and shop requirements by communicating with project teams regarding supplier performance
  • Ensure on time delivery of material, components, and documents to meet the project delivery schedule
  • Use past supplier performance or projects to prepare a detailed Expediting Plan to meet the overall project delivery schedule
  • Work independently with other departments to maintain project and supplier schedule requirements for documents, drawings, specifications, etc.
  • Monitor schedule and delivery related project milestones by communicating with vendors.
  • Assist Logistics and or Client’s Logistics for the transportation/shipment of products
  • Provide QC/QA with information related to supplier performance and scheduled inspections
  • Report overall material status, stock of critical and important items, distribute expediting reports anticipating and highlighting problem areas
  • Ensure all jobs are carried out as per ISO standards.
Job Requirements:
  • 7+ years of proven experience as a Procurement Engineer, preferably in steel fabrication.
  • Should have experience in the heavy fabrication units associated with Oil & Gas projects as a Procurement Engineer.
  • Graduate in Mechanical Engineering (Diploma with relevant experience also preferred)
  • Proficiency with MS office and other ERP software.
  • Ability to analyse bill of material and drawings to understand key requirements.
  • Knowledge and direct experience in negotiating contracts and quotations with suppliers, vendors and service providers.
  • Negotiation skills and ability to identify cost reduction opportunities.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, and negotiation.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
