Job Brief:

Our client is hiring for a Project/Site Engineer (MEP) job in Dubai to oversee and coordinate Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works across construction project sites. The successful candidate will ensure that MEP works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, project schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements. The role will involve site supervision, subcontractor coordination, progress monitoring, inspections, and project documentation to support the successful delivery of MEP projects.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and monitor daily MEP activities at the construction site.
  • Ensure all MEP works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, local authority regulations, and contract requirements.
  • Coordinate with project managers, consultants, subcontractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Review construction drawings and identify discrepancies, conflicts, or design issues.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure work quality and compliance with project specifications.
  • Prepare and monitor project work schedules and resource requirements.
  • Coordinate procurement and delivery of MEP materials, equipment, and tools.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely completion of works.
  • Attend project progress meetings and provide technical inputs and updates.
  • Coordinate testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
  • Ensure all MEP installations meet quality standards and approved shop drawings.
  • Conduct inspections and prepare snag lists for rectification.
  • Monitor compliance with project quality plans and inspection procedures.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC personnel for inspections and approvals.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and site HSE requirements.
  • Identify potential safety hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and site audits.
  • Ensure safe working practices are followed by all site personnel and subcontractors.
  • Maintain site records, daily reports, progress reports, and inspection records.
  • Prepare and submit RFIs, material submittals, method statements, and technical documents.
  • Monitor project progress against schedules and report delays or risks to management.
  • Assist in the preparation of variation orders, claims, and project closeout documentation.
  • Coordinate with authorities and consultants for inspections and approvals.
  • Supervise testing and commissioning of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting, and ELV systems.
  • Ensure all systems perform according to design requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate final inspections and handover documentation.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 4–8 years of experience in MEP construction projects.
  • GCC/UAE contracting company experience preferred.
  • Experience in residential, commercial, industrial, or high-rise building projects.
  • Familiarity with local authority requirements and approvals in the UAE.
  • Valid UAE Driving Licence preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and ELV systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Understanding of testing and commissioning procedures.
  • Familiarity with project planning and scheduling software is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of UAE building codes, DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, Civil Defense, and municipality regulations.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and reporting skills.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
