Job Brief:
This role requires deep expertise in project funding and financial structures. We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Project Financing Manager who will play a central role in structuring, analyzing, and delivering financial solutions for energy generation projects (HFO, LNG, solar), mining operations, industrial facilities, and large-scale infrastructure ventures across Africa and the Middle East.

The position combines financial modeling, feasibility analysis, lender engagement, project documentation, due diligence support, and investor presentations. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership to build investment cases, assess project bankability, and coordinate financing processes with banks, DFIs, ECAs, and other financial partners.

Job Responsibilities:
Financial Modeling & Analysis
  • Develop detailed financial models for energy and industrial projects, including HFO power plants, LNG barges, solar farms, mining operations, and manufacturing lines.
  • Prepare NPV, IRR, DSCR calculations, cash flow projections, amortization schedules, debt sizing, and sensitivity analyses.
  • Model multiple scenarios covering CAPEX, OPEX, tariff structures, PPA terms, loan conditions, blended finance options, grants, and project risks.
  • Update financial models based on engineering inputs, vendor quotations, and prevailing market data.
Project Financing & Structuring
  • Lead the structuring of debt and equity financing packages, including:
  • Corporate loans
  • Project finance structures
  • Export Credit Agency (ECA) financing
  • Supplier credit and deferred payment terms
  • SBLC and LC-backed structures
  • Coordinate preparation of Information Memorandums (IMs), term sheets, project teasers, lender presentations, and financial snapshots.
Due Diligence & Documentation
  • Support lenders during technical, financial, legal, and environmental due diligence processes.
  • Prepare and manage financing documentation, track deliverables, manage data rooms, and respond to lender queries.
  • Review key project contracts such as PPAs, EPC contracts, O&M agreements, fuel supply agreements, and offtake agreements to identify financing requirements and risks.
Market & Risk Analysis
  • Conduct market studies covering fuel pricing (HFO/LNG), tariff benchmarking, regulatory frameworks, foreign exchange exposure, and macroeconomic conditions.
  • Build risk matrices and develop mitigation strategies to enhance project bankability.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Coordinate and engage with government institutions, utilities, banks, DFIs, EPC contractors, and equipment suppliers.
  • Participate in project meetings, negotiations, and investor calls to support financing objectives.
Reporting & Presentation
  • Prepare weekly financing progress reports, dashboards, and executive summaries for management.
  • Support the creation of investment decks, project teasers, board presentations, and donor submission packages.
Job Requirements:
  • 3–7 years of experience in project finance, preferably within Power generation (HFO, LNG, solar), Infrastructure projects, and Mining or industrial manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to build complex financial models from scratch.
  • Experience working with DFIs, African banks, or ECAs is preferred.
  • Industry experience: Power generation (HFO, LNG, solar) and Contracting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (mandatory).
  • Proficiency in French is a strong advantage.
  • Valid driving license.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently across African markets.
  • High time flexibility to manage international project timelines.
