Job Brief:
Our client in the paper manufacturing industry is seeking a detail-oriented QC Lab Technician to ensure product quality through accurate laboratory testing and inspection processes. The role involves conducting standard paper testing procedures, maintaining laboratory records, and ensuring compliance with environmental, occupational health, and safety standards.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in paper testing methods for writing and printing paper, along with strong analytical and documentation skills.

Job Responsibilities:

• Possess knowledge of standard paper testing methods for writing and printing paper.
• Ensure high accuracy while conducting tests, recording data, and maintaining laboratory records.
• Operate basic laboratory instruments used for testing paper strength, physical properties, and optical properties.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations required for test analysis and reporting.
• Maintain strong adherence to laboratory safety procedures and proper reel sampling handling.
• Comply with environmental, occupational health, and safety standards at all times.
• Conduct sampling of paper from the winder reels at the winders as per the procedure.
• Inspect physical defects in paper from reels and parent rolls, and report promptly to the process owner for corrective action.
• Perform testing of samples as per work instructions and compare results with standard specifications.
• Communicate any deviations to the process owner and QC Supervisor for immediate corrective action.
• Maintain preservation and profiling of parent roll samples.
• Enter and maintain test results accurately in the MES system.
• Conduct special sample testing as per work instructions and report results accordingly.
• Manage laboratory assets and maintain 5S standards within the laboratory.
• Support and drive quality activities in line with internal quality guidelines.
