Job Brief:
We are seeking an experienced Quality & Safety Engineer to ensure the safety, compliance, and operational excellence of building facilities. The role involves conducting safety audits, coordinating with regulatory authorities, overseeing life-safety systems, and managing corrective action workflows. The ideal candidate must be an Arabic speaker with relevant building safety and fire protection system experience.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of building fabric, MEP services, and life-safety systems including fire alarms, sprinklers, dry risers, AOVs, and evacuation systems.
  • Review and monitor maintenance and servicing programs for fire detection, smoke control, emergency lighting, risers, and water hygiene systems.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities such as Civil Defense and local municipality for building safety compliance, inspections, certifications, and approvals.
  • Manage corrective action plans by identifying defects, escalating unsafe conditions, coordinating remedial works, and maintaining documentation.
  • Collaborate with facilities management teams, contractors, and occupants/residents to ensure safe building operations and proper safety practices.
  • Prepare safety reports, performance KPIs, and improvement plans, including near-miss tracking, incident reporting, and audit follow-up.
  • Support emergency response planning, including conducting fire evacuation drills, contractor safety orientations, and standby procedures.
  • Handle processes related to insurance safety requirements and compliance.
  • Responsible for issuing and renewing Civil Defense certifications for the premises.
  • Oversee renewal of contracts with firefighting contractors and third-party service providers.
Job Requirements:
  • Arabic speaker (Mandatory).
  • Proven experience in building safety, facilities management, or related engineering roles.
  • Experience in fire protection systems, life-safety systems, and MEP services.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, Civil Defense requirements, and municipality approvals.
  • Ability to conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
  • Experience with corrective action planning and follow-up.
  • Knowledge of fire alarms, sprinklers, dry risers, AOVs, emergency lighting, and water hygiene systems.
  • Familiarity with certification, insurance, and contractor management processes
  • Prior experience issuing or renewing Civil Defense certifications.
  • Knowledge of safety KPIs, incident reporting, and improvement plans.
  • Exposure to facilities management operations in commercial/residential buildings.
  • Strong understanding of fire safety systems, mechanical/electrical building services, evacuation procedures, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience coordinating with Civil Defense, municipalities, and regulatory bodies.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams and external contractors.
