Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement occupational health and safety policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with local, regional, and international regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Collaborate with department heads and employees to promote safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols through training programs, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities, and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies as required.
  • Coordinate with external agencies and regulatory bodies on matters related to occupational health and safety compliance, permits, and certifications.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory changes in occupational health and safety to ensure continuous improvement of safety standards.
  • Participate in emergency response planning and conduct drills to prepare employees for emergency situations such as fires, chemical spills, and medical emergencies.
  • Provide support and guidance to employees on safety-related matters and serve as a resource for safety-related inquiries and concerns.
  • Assist in the development and review of emergency response plans, standard operating procedures, and contingency plans to ensure readiness for emergencies.

Job Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience as a Safety Officer in a chemical manufacturing industry
  • Ensuring compliance with EHS /JAFZA/ Dubai Port regulations
  • Ensure safe handling storage and disposal wherever necessary of hazardous chemicals
  • Liaisoning with Regulatory officers and ensuring compliances necessary to renew OFC
  • Liaisoning with customer EHS audit teams
  • Professional certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) is preferred.
