Job Brief:

Our client is looking for a commercially driven Sales Manager to lead the Sales and Estimation teams and drive new business growth across the MENA region. This is a hunter role suited to someone who thrives on opening doors, building pipelines, and converting complex technical opportunities. The role requires strong technical literacy, including the ability to read and understand steel fabrication drawings. Knowledge of blast and ballistic protection is a significant advantage.

The Sales Manager will oversee the Estimation Department, support the sales team in executing their projects, and position engineered-to-order solutions to defence primes, OEMs, and government customers.

This Sales Manager Job in the UAE requires a commercially focused professional with strong business development experience, technical understanding, and an established knowledge of the MENA defence and industrial manufacturing landscape.

Job Responsibilities:

Sales Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, manage, and support the sales team in developing opportunities and executing customer projects.
  • Provide direction, technical guidance, and oversight on proposals, drawings, and costings.
  • Monitor team performance, pipeline development, and regional sales targets.
  • Ensure alignment between sales commitments, engineering feasibility, and production capability.
  • Provide account management support to existing customer accounts.
Business Development – MENA Region
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new customers and orders across the MENA region.
  • Build pipelines across target accounts, programs, and government entities.
  • Manage long-cycle sales opportunities from qualification through to award.
  • Conduct regional travel for meetings, presentations, demonstrations, and negotiations.
  • Deliver order intake and growth targets in line with company strategy.
Estimation Department Management
  • Lead the Estimation Department, working closely with the Estimation Supervisor to ensure accurate and timely preparation of costings and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
  • Review steel fabrication drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to produce detailed estimates.
  • Coordinate with engineering, production, and procurement teams to validate feasibility, material costs, and labour hours.
  • Maintain and update cost databases, pricing structures, and estimation templates.
Technical Interpretation & Proposal Development
  • Read, interpret, and understand steel fabrication drawings, weld details, material specifications, and assemblies.
  • Identify discrepancies or fabrication challenges and communicate them internally.
  • Prepare and review technical and commercial proposals with precise scope definition.
  • Ensure proposals comply with customer specifications and regional requirements.
Blast & Ballistic Protection Knowledge – Advantageous
  • Understand blast ratings, ballistic classifications, and protection standards.
  • Interpret protection requirements and integrate them into costings and proposals.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams to validate protection solutions.

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales, business development, estimation, or technical sales support.
  • Experience in steel fabrication, industrial manufacturing, or defence sectors.
  • Knowledge of blast and ballistic protection is a strong advantage.
  • Proven business development or sales success with defence primes or OEMs in the MENA region.
  • Significant experience within the defence sector, with a strong understanding of procurement routes, programmes, and the customer landscape.
  • Experience selling engineered-to-order or technical solutions.
  • An established network within defence primes, OEMs, or government customers is advantageous.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret steel fabrication drawings.
  • Experience managing sales and/or estimation teams.
  • Commercially driven with a hunter mentality.

  • Strong organizational discipline and documentation accuracy.
  • Transparent communication and proactive problem-solving skills.
