Job Brief:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant in Sharjah to strengthen the finance team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting, with strong expertise in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

With 8–10 years of experience, the Senior Accountant will play a key role in strengthening financial controls, improving reporting processes, and guiding junior team members while ensuring full compliance with UAE regulations and IFRS standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS standards, ensuring completeness and accuracy of all financial records.
  • Ensure timely financial reporting and provide detailed analysis to support management decision-making.
  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures, ensuring full compliance with IFRS and other applicable regulations.
  • Manage and mentor a team of accountants, fostering a collaborative, efficient, and performance-driven work environment.
  • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors and ensuring smooth audit execution.
  • Oversee tax planning and compliance activities, including the timely and accurate filing of VAT and corporate tax returns, while ensuring adherence to UAE tax regulations.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, provide insights, support strategic decision-making, and forecast financial outcomes.
  • Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and internal control mechanisms to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree or professional certification (such as CPA or ACCA) is preferred.
  • 8-10 years of proven experience in accounting or a related field.
  • Strong and practical knowledge of IFRS standards is essential.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated understanding of UAE corporate tax laws and regulations.
  • Strong working knowledge of UAE VAT compliance requirements.
