Job Brief:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Draftsman responsible for independently preparing and developing Civil and Electrical drawings for power projects, particularly HV/EHV substations.

The role includes the preparation of 2D drawings and 3D BIM models, multidisciplinary design coordination, BIM coordination, shop/construction drawings, and as-built documentation in accordance with project and client requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

Actively follow and promote the Company Safety and Security policies and ensure that fellow employees and visitors are doing the same. These policies are to be followed at all times within the Company environment to ensure a safe and secure workplace for all.
Independently prepare Civil and Electrical drawings for power projects, particularly HV/EHV substations.
Develop equipment layouts, cable trench layouts, cable routing, earthing layouts, foundations, structural, architectural, and associated infrastructure drawings.
Prepare detailed shop drawings, construction drawings, sections, details, and as-built drawings based on approved design/IFC documents.
Develop and update 2D AutoCAD drawings and 3D BIM models using Revit.
Coordinate Civil, Structural, Electrical, and MEP drawings/models to ensure consistency between disciplines.
Perform BIM coordination, model reviews, and clash detection/resolution using Revit, Navisworks, or equivalent software.
Coordinate with Design Engineers, Project Engineers, consultants, and site teams to resolve drawing, design, and interface issues.
Review drawings and BIM models for accuracy, completeness, constructability, and compliance with project/client requirements.
Incorporate design changes, RFIs, and client/consultant comments, ensuring proper drawing and model revision control.
Ensure timely preparation and submission of drawings, BIM deliverables, and final as-built documentation.

Job Requirements:

Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, CAD/Drafting, or a related technical discipline.
8–10 years of relevant drafting/design experience, preferably in power projects.
Proven experience in HV/EHV substation projects and multidisciplinary Civil & Electrical drawings.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
Working knowledge of Navisworks/BIM coordination.
Ability to independently prepare Civil and Electrical drawings.
Knowledge of substation layouts, equipment foundations, cable trenches/routing, earthing, and associated civil/structural works.
Experience in multidisciplinary coordination.
Experience preparing shop/construction and as-built drawings.
Knowledge of drawing revision/document control.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both spoken and written.
Arabic language skills are preferred, and knowledge of additional languages would be considered an advantage.
