Job Brief:We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Logistics Specialist with strong expertise in international logistics, project cargo, and cross-trade operations into Iraq. The role requires in-depth knowledge of shipping documentation, customs compliance, and vendor management, with a proven track record of ensuring timely, compliant, and cost-effective shipments.
Job Responsibilities:- Coordinate international and domestic shipments, ensuring timely delivery.
- Select suitable shipping equipment (GP/HC, OT, FR, reefer) based on cargo requirements.
- Prepare and manage all shipping and customs documentation with 100% accuracy (commercial invoice, COO, packing list, HBL/MBL/AWB, inspection certificates, attestations).
- Plan and optimize air, sea, and road transport; develop loading/stuffing and lashing plans.
- Ensure compliance with UAE and Iraq import/export laws, free zone vs mainland rules, and re-export procedures.
- Handle Letters of Credit documentation (UCP 600), Incoterms 2020 application, HS code verification, and valuation.
- Manage cross-trade shipments into Iraq, analyzing global routes, transit times, and risks.
- Arrange and manage cargo insurance coverage, claims, and surveys.
- Track shipments proactively, troubleshoot delays, and mitigate demurrage/detention risks.
- Audit freight invoices, resolve discrepancies, and negotiate with service providers.
- Handle vendor dispute resolution, claims management, and SLA monitoring.
- Negotiate rates and services with 3PLs and carriers to secure competitive market options.
- Maintain accurate logistics records in TMS/ERP systems and provide status reports.
- Drive process improvements, monitor KPIs, and enhance vendor performance.
