Job Brief:
Our client, a reputable organization operating in the construction industry, is seeking an experienced Senior Planning Engineer – Civil to join their team in Abu Dhabi.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing project planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring for large-scale construction projects. This role requires a highly analytical professional with strong technical expertise in project planning tools and methodologies.

The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure that construction activities are effectively planned, monitored, and executed in line with project timelines and company objectives. The role also requires ensuring compliance with UAE construction standards and regulations while maintaining accurate reporting on project progress.

Job Responsibilities:

Develop detailed project schedules and work plans for construction projects using industry-standard planning tools.
Prepare and maintain baseline schedules and ensure proper monitoring throughout the project lifecycle.
Track project progress and update schedules regularly to reflect actual progress and forecast completion timelines.
Monitor project performance against the approved schedule and identify any delays or potential risks.
Analyze project data and prepare progress reports, dashboards, and planning documentation for management review.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure alignment between planning activities and on-site execution.
Provide recommendations to mitigate schedule delays and improve project efficiency.
Participate in project meetings to review timelines, discuss progress updates, and address planning-related challenges.
Support project teams in resource planning, work sequencing, and scheduling adjustments when required.
Ensure all planning and scheduling activities comply with UAE construction standards and regulations.
Monitor project milestones and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
Maintain accurate records of project schedules, revisions, and progress updates.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
Minimum 10 years of experience in the UAE within the construction industry.
Strong experience in project planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring.
Proficiency in planning tools such as Primavera P6 and MS Project.
Demonstrated experience in handling large-scale construction projects.
Good knowledge of UAE construction standards and regulations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify project risks and delays.
Excellent coordination and communication skills to effectively work with project teams and stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple planning activities while ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
