Job Brief:
We are seeking an experienced Service Engineer to join our client's team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation of water and wastewater treatment systems. The role involves managing projects and site activities, coordinating with engineering teams and clients, optimizing plant performance, and providing technical support to ensure the successful execution and maintenance of water treatment solutions. Candidates with prior experience in water treatment technologies and process engineering will be highly preferred.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage project and site activities related to water and wastewater treatment systems.
  • Perform commissioning and maintenance of various water and wastewater treatment technologies, including clarifiers, filtration systems, softeners, UV, UF, EDI, RO, DM plants, aeration systems, MBBR, MBR, and related equipment.
  • Coordinate with the engineering team regarding BOQ requirements for erection and commissioning activities.
  • Manage client relationships by understanding project priorities, addressing expectations, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze water quality parameters and recommend appropriate corrective actions when required.
  • Execute projects and oversee operation and maintenance activities for water treatment, wastewater treatment, STP, and TSE polishing systems.
  • Supervise plant equipment installation in accordance with P&ID drawings, piping layouts, and isometric drawings.
  • Raise RFIs and coordinate with consultants for approvals upon completion of installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Coordinate with clients to ensure site readiness before commencing installation activities.
  • Optimize plant performance to achieve the designed operational commitments and efficiency targets.
  • Diagnose process-related issues and provide technical recommendations for improvement.
  • Prepare method statements, checklists, and task risk assessments (TRA) for installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Generate monthly O&M reports, AMC service reports, production reports, chemical consumption reports, and water analysis reports.
  • Conduct site surveys and submit detailed reports on actual/as-built site conditions, along with recommendations to the sales team prior to project bidding.
  • Apply for and close work permits as required for site activities.
  • Liaise with sales teams, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop process engineering solutions to support day-to-day operations, maintenance, and monitoring activities.
  • Monitor and evaluate plant performance and maintain accurate performance reports.
  • Troubleshoot operational and process quality issues related to cooling water treatment, boiler water treatment, process water treatment, chilled water systems, wastewater treatment, domestic water systems, and swimming pool water treatment.
  • Provide technical input for operating procedures and process improvements.
  • Carry out flushing activities and supervise related site work.
  • Identify additional service opportunities and support business growth through value-added services.
  • Commission and troubleshoot water treatment controllers and dosing systems.
  • Program and interface controllers with BMS and SCADA systems.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Ethernet and IP-based communication systems.
  • Review existing treatment programs and provide enhanced technical recommendations through case studies and performance assessments.
  • Conduct corrosion coupon monitoring and analysis.
  • Implement biological control measures using on-site and laboratory testing methods.
  • Calibrate specialized instruments and sensors, including PTSA analyzers, fluorometers, online corrators, turbidity meters, ORP analyzers, and similar equipment.
  • Coordinate with equipment suppliers to troubleshoot dosing systems, controllers, pumps, sensors, and related equipment.
  • Maintain schedules, service records, and reports of planned and completed work in accordance with company procedures.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental requirements while ensuring the proper use of personal protective equipment and safe working practices.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in a similar Service Engineer role.
  • Hands-on experience in commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation of water and wastewater treatment plants.
  • Strong knowledge of water treatment technologies such as RO, UF, EDI, DM plants, clarifiers, filtration systems, softeners, MBBR, MBR, and related systems.
  • Experience in project execution, site management, and operation & maintenance of water and wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs, piping layouts, isometric drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of water analysis, process optimization, and operational troubleshooting.
  • Experience with dosing systems, controllers, instrumentation, and automation systems.
  • Familiarity with BMS and SCADA integration and controller programming.
  • Understanding of Ethernet communication and IP-based industrial networks.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good client management, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to prepare technical reports, method statements, risk assessments, and service documentation.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards applicable to industrial and water treatment operations.
  • Water treatment industry experience will be a strong advantage.
