Job Brief:

Our client is seeking a strategic and hands-on Supply Chain Manager to oversee end-to-end supply chain operations across Procurement, Logistics, Stores, and Dispatch. The role will serve as the bridge between engineering requirements and the global supplier network, ensuring that projects are supported with high-quality materials delivered on time and within budget.

The successful candidate will oversee all four core functions, with particular emphasis on Procurement and Logistics. The role requires strong experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, international logistics, inventory optimization, cost management, and supply chain risk mitigation within an engineering or manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Procurement, Logistics, Stores, and Dispatch functions, with particular focus on Procurement and Logistics.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with key vendors specializing in engineering components, raw materials, and specialized tooling.
  • Develop and implement inventory control strategies to minimize carrying costs while ensuring zero production downtime.
  • Oversee domestic and international shipping, customs compliance, and warehousing to ensure seamless delivery to project sites.
  • Negotiate high-value contracts and lead cost-reduction initiatives without compromising on required quality standards.
  • Monitor global market trends and supply chain disruptions to develop robust contingency plans.
  • Work closely with the Engineering and Project Management teams to align procurement schedules with project timelines.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or Business.
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain or procurement, preferably within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong relevant experience in Procurement and Logistics is required.
  • Proficiency in ERP software such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics, along with advanced Excel skills.
  • CSCP, CPIM, or CPSM certifications are highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify patterns and opportunities for efficiency.
  • Strong negotiation capabilities with the ability to build mutually beneficial supplier relationships while protecting the company’s commercial interests.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to global logistics challenges and maintain continuity of operations.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in an engineering environment where material specifications and delivery timelines are critical.
  • Ability to operate at a senior level and contribute to key business and operational decisions.
