Job Brief:

Our client is seeking an experienced Technical Coordinator to manage and coordinate technical activities for a construction project located on an island near Al Sila, Abu Dhabi.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating between site teams, consultants, subcontractors, and project management, reviewing technical documentation, following up on RFIs and drawing approvals, and ensuring smooth communication across project departments.

The ideal candidate must have previous technical coordination experience with a construction contracting company, along with a strong understanding of technical drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, and project documentation.

This position is based at a remote island project site. Candidates must be willing to stay at the project location for extended periods, potentially several months at a time.

Job Responsibilities:

Coordinate technical activities between site teams, consultants, subcontractors, and project management.
Review technical drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, and project documentation.
Prepare, coordinate, and follow up on Requests for Information (RFIs), technical submissions, and drawing approvals.
Coordinate with construction, QA/QC, HSE, planning, and procurement teams to support project execution.
Identify technical issues and coordinate with the relevant teams to resolve them.
Ensure technical activities comply with project specifications, approved drawings, and applicable technical requirements.
Maintain accurate technical records, submission registers, and approval tracking reports.
Monitor outstanding technical submissions and follow up on approvals to prevent project delays.
Coordinate with consultants and subcontractors to clarify technical requirements and resolve documentation discrepancies.
Facilitate effective communication between site operations and technical stakeholders.
Monitor technical documentation deadlines and provide regular progress updates to project management.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Architectural Engineering or a relevant technical discipline.
Previous experience as a Technical Engineer or Technical Coordinator with a construction contracting company (experience exclusively in consultancy firms will not be considered) is mandatory.
Strong knowledge of technical drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs, and construction project documentation.
Experience coordinating with consultants, subcontractors, site engineers, and project management teams.
Ability to track technical submissions, monitor approvals, and maintain project documentation records.
Good technical coordination, communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in MS Office applications.
Knowledge of AutoCAD will be an advantage.
Experience in island-based, offshore, remote, or infrastructure construction projects will be preferred.
Must be willing to work and reside at the remote island project location near Al Sila, Abu Dhabi, for extended periods, potentially several months at a time.
