Job Brief:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Technical Procurement Officer to join the Commercial Department. The role involves ensuring the uninterrupted supply of raw materials, consumables, and spares required for plant operations, while implementing cost-reduction initiatives, maintaining quality standards, and managing vendor development and evaluation in alignment with company policies.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the continuous and timely supply of raw materials, consumables, engineering maintenance spares, and inventory stock items from approved suppliers.
  • Monitor and achieve cost reduction targets across all commodities as part of continuous improvement.
  • Manage vendor registration, approval, development, and performance monitoring in line with internal quality and EHSMS standards.
  • Monitor critical suppliers using ABC analysis based on product categories.
  • Coordinate daily with the Plant Manager and user departments to ensure technically accurate procurement.
  • Prepare monthly cost meeting reports including PR-to-PO conversion details, cost reduction summaries, new supplier listings, and value engineering for monopolistic spare parts.
  • Oversee inventory control in coordination with the Stores department.
  • Generate monthly purchase order status reports for top management.
  • Address supplier payment issues in coordination with the Accounts department.
  • Manage import purchases in compliance with INCOTERMS.
  • Implement Just-in-Time (JIT) practices for short lead-time commodities.
  • Negotiate and establish favorable credit terms with suppliers.
  • Set and maintain the Quality Policy and transparent procurement practices for the department through a formal Operations Manual.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Metallurgy Engineering (Postgraduate degree or MBA preferred).
  • 3–5 years of relevant procurement experience in the UAE, preferably within the steel industry.
  • Strong knowledge of raw material sourcing and established vendor connections.
  • Expertise in supply chain management, logistics, and procurement cost control.
  • Proficiency in SAP and E-auctions.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Financial acumen and budget management capabilities.
  • Excellent planning and forecasting skills.
  • Familiarity with UAE local market suppliers.
  • Valid UAE Driving License required.
  • ERP system experience is an advantage
